Tychem® is an innovative fabric range comprising multiple barrier layers that help provide protection from chemical and biological hazards. Laminated to Tyvek® for strength, it offers a robust solution with a high level of chemical barrier at uncharacteristically low weight.
Is tychem breathable?
Comfort & Weartime Are TYCHEM® styles breathable? TYCHEM® styles are not air – or water vapour permeable due to their material structure. The work place risk assessment should evaluate how long a wearer can work in a non-breathable suit.
What do poly coated Tyvek coveralls protect against?
Protective clothing made of Tyvek® repels dirt better than woven cloth garments. Tyvek® provides an excellent barrier against dirt and other dry particulates, including asbestos, lead dust, and radioactive dusts down to sub-micron size.
Can you wash Tyvek coveralls?
Tyvek® industrial protective garments are single-use products and not intended for reuse. DuPont does not recommend washing or disinfecting Tyvek® garments for reuse.

DuPont™ Tychem®TK chemical barrier material consists of a high strength, high tear resistant, 100% nonwoven poly- ester staple fabric sandwiched between two proprietary non-halogenated barrier films. One side is coloured high visibility green and the opposite side is coloured white.
