What is Islington Boxing Club?

Islington Boxing Club is a registered charity trading under the name of Islington Community Sports Academy. We are proud to be self-funded through fundraising efforts that the management and volunteers of the club undertake weekly throughout the year.

In September 2018, it was announced that a blockbuster deal had been struck for Fox Sports has become the major broadcaster for Premier Boxing Championships (PBC). Previously, Fox Sports featured boxing on FoxSports1 and FOX Deportes only. FS1 would carry 12 boxing nights each year.

What is Islington Community Sports Academy?

‘Islington Community Sports Academy’ (ICSA) was established in June 2012 and became the new charitable name of Islington Boxing Club (IBC) but still trading as IBC. Prior to this the club traded under the charitable name of Islington Boys’ Club but going into the 21st century this title was seen to be outdated.

How many Fight Nights does PBC have on Fox?

The big boon for longtime boxing fans, as well as newer viewers, are the 10 “fight nights” of PBC’s marquee events that will be broadcast during the year. With a roster of more than 160 boxers that includes 60 current or former champions, the programming on FOX promises the highest quality and level of excitement on FOX, FS1 and FOX PPV.

Who are our recreational boxing and fitness classes for?

Our Recreational Boxing and Fitness Classes which run by Islington Community Sports Academy are aimed towards anyone who would like to learn the fundamentals of Boxing, benefiting from boxing fitness and assisting with mental health without progressing to compete.

Who can join our boxing academy?

Our Boxing Academy sessions are open to all beginners interested in the sport of boxing and with the intention of rising to a level (when fully trained) where they will eventually compete.
