Most Zimbabwean people are descendants of Luvhimbi, the founder of the Dziva totem. He was called Dziva because of his father’s name, Dzivaguru. As his family grew, his sons also changed their totems. Totems were used to identify people from different clans. Totems are still used by people in Zimbabwe.
