Aspavor is an international brand name for atorvastatin, a statin used to lower LDL cholesterol. Statins can cause muscle myopathy and rhabdomyolysis. Rhabdomyolysis is a condition in which damaged skeletal muscle breaks down rapidly. Symptoms may include muscle pains, weakness, vomiting, and confusion.

Can Aspavor cause weight gain?
According to my copy of MIMS which lists medicines sold in SA and their effects and side-effects, weight gain is not listed as a side-effect for Aspavor. However mention is made that this medication may cause hypo- or hyperglycaemia, which could possibly affect body weight.
Does Aspavor cause insomnia?
