What does deconvolution do in Pixinsight?
Deconvolution attempts to model this total distortion function from a number of sample stars and then tries to undo the total distortion. The effective end result is a sharper image.

If your stars are slighly oval try this in photoshop:
- Duplicate the image (ideally fully processed) as a new layer.

- Then apply Filters -> Other -> Offset and nudge the vertical and horizonal offset values until you get round stars.
