I haven’t been able to scientifically measure the sound quality, comparing the NEX 5R’s built in dual microphones to the ECMSST1, but unscientifically it sounds great. For interviews and listening to a room, the 120 degree mode gives an ultra wide sensation to the sound, really picking up stuff in the edges of the scene.
