Bullpups are a fascinating rifle design and over the 30 or so years they’ve been in serious service we’ve seen drastic improvements. Bullpups are becoming ambidextrous, gaining better trigger options, and becoming easier to reload.
What are the downsides of bullpups?
The downside of most bullpup rifles is that they tend to be less ambidextrous. Most will eject cartridges out of the right side of the gun and are designed for right-handed shooters. This makes many unsuitable for lefties.
Are bullpups inaccurate?
Bullpups are notorious for not being accurate, but just like any other rifle, if you put a good barrel on it, it’ll shoot better. From personal experience, many bullpups shoot around 1.5 MOA, which is well under minute-of-man. So if used for the intended design as a battle rifle, bullpup accuracy is acceptable.

The biggest advantage of the bullpup is its small size. The RDB is known for its compact design and balance. Users are able to more easily utilize the weapon’s overall length without sacrificing barrel length compared to a traditional rifle. Excellent balance allows for better mobility.
