Will a 454 bolt up to 350 motor mounts?
Both will work but I have found that using 350 mounts on the 454 will cause the fan to rub the bottom of the fan shroud. Use all of the parts from the 454 truck in the K10. MAKE SURE you don’t use the 350 flywheel on the 454. Everything else should be obvious.

As crate engines go, GM Performance Parts’ 454 H.O. crate engine is not only a bargain at its street price of around $4,600, its forged crank, pistons, and rods also make it capable of handling nearly as much power as you’re capable of throwing at it. We proved that in our Aug.

I would be inclined to soup up the 350. For the money you are going to spend on the 454, you could go along way. Plus, fuel economy is going to be much better with the small block, even with mods. I think you can do a supercharger for about three grand. Now that would be cool! When you hear hoofbeats, look for horses not zebras.

I would like to eventually throw a 454 in it. I made this swap in my ’81 Silverado a few years back…of course in the ’81 there is alot less junk to clog up the engine compartment. My ’96 is my daily driver and I would like to keep it as functional as possible (A/C, etc, etc) I would also like to keep it fuel injected if possible.
