It’s not necessary to wash your Q grill in water after every use but the grill should be washed in hot water and detergent after every five or six cooks to remove excess grease. Try to keep the grill protected from the elements, particularly if you live near the sea or have a pool.

Can I put my Weber grill grates in the dishwasher?

Items such as your cooking grates, Flavorizer® bars and Gourment BBQ System inserts should never be washed in the dishwasher as the hot steam could cause damage and ruin these items. With the exception of the pizza stone, always hand wash these items non-citrus based soap and warm water.

Can you soak Weber grill grates?

They can promote corrosion. You can soak the grates in hot water to remove stubborn particles and then use a mild dishwashing liquid and nylon/soft abrasive pads or brushes. Make sure you use a soft cloth or paper towel to thoroughly dry the grates when you’re done. Letting them air-dry can also promote corrosion.
