Why does my Airtex fuel pump have 4 wires?
The early original fuel pump connector from the factory has 4 wires in a square plug with a wire in each quadrant, which was in fact the cause of many failures. The new connector, which also came on my first Airtex pump, has 4 wires in a flat plug with all 4 wires in a row. The stock wire harness is NOT the reason why the AIRTEX pumps fail.
