Coco coir delivers nutrients directly to your plants during every feeding cycle, and it also retains nutrients so you don’t have to water your plants as frequently as you would with a hydroponics system.
Is Botanicare Coco buffered?
All Botanicare coco is pre-buffered and rinsed before packaging to eliminate any salts. If you do wish to rinse Cocogro, use R.O. water and a 2:1 ratio of water to coco by volume to flush the soil before planting.
Should I water coco every day?
The frequency of watering depends on the evaporation and the water supply in the COCO. A common rule is; one daily watering is sufficient during the first few weeks under normal circumstances; then increase up to 2 times a day; 2 hours after the lamps have been turned on and 2 hours before they are switched off again.

An unbuffered coco coir will cause nutrient lock out of calcium and magnesium because the coco substrates have a stronger attraction to these 2 salts compared to potassium and sodium. As a result, sodium and potassium will be displaced into the solution and uptaken into the roots.
