The clay ground is pretty easy pulling around here, tho.. Our soil has some clay in it so to successfully plow you need about 15 hp per 14″. You can do a much better job with more hp.

There is also a difference of the tractors and there balance as well as the tractors draft control. Clay pulls hard and slow whre other soils you could pull faster by three mph with the same set-up.
