There is no “Pre-Law Major” offered at FIU nor is any major the best preparation for law school. Political Science and International Relations are both appropriate majors if you enjoy the classes and do well academically.

If the maximum amount of credit is applied towards the JD at FIU Law, students may complete their JD in approximately two years of full-time study. Students with advanced standing may also be admitted to the evening/part-time program, allowing them to complete their studies in as little as three years.
How do you get into FIU Law school?
All candidates must have been awarded a baccalaureate degree from an accredited four-year institution. Prior to matriculation, admitted students must request that their undergraduate, graduate and professional schools submit a final official transcript to FIU Law’s Director of Admissions and to LSAC.
Can I get into FIU Law with a 3.0 GPA?
Students with outstanding academic records may be admitted based on first semester grades, conditioned upon your maintaining at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA through the second semester. If you do not satisfy the GPA condition, then FIU Law reserves the right to rescind your offer of admission.
