Under his leadership, South Kentucky RECC grew and saw the construction of four new office facilities, including the Somerset headquarters, the purchase of the Monticello Plant Board, and the development of a strong and sustainable corporate financial structure. Mr. Anderson retired in 2017.

Simmons, who began his duties in January, 2020, is a 38-year veteran of the electric co-op industry, has been serving as CEO at Southwest Rural Electric Cooperative, which serves southern Oklahoma and northern Texas, since 2016.
