What is a TGV sensor?
What is a TGV sensor?
The Tumble Generator Valve Sensors are used to determine whether the Tumble Generator Valves (or TGVs) are open or closed. TGVs are valves found in Subarus, located on the lower part of the intake manifold, that open (and remain open) when the engine is cold and the throttle has not yet been depressed.
What does a tumble generator valve do?
The intake of some Subaru models (including the Impreza WRX) includes tumble generator valves above the fuel injectors. When the engine is at idle, these valves close and bypass the incoming airflow through a passage to increase the swirl of the air/fuel mixture, resulting in an engine that operates more cleanly.
What is a tumble control valve?
Tumble control valve position sensor is built into the tumble control valve actuator (2). The sensor consists of a permanent magnet and Hall IC. It senses the valve shaft movement and feeds the voltage signals to the ECM.
How much HP does a TGV delete add?
23 whp
The TGV delete kit adds a great deal of power on the top-end of the rpm range, starting at around 5,000 rpm. We are making maximum gains of 23 whp and nearly 21 wtq.
Are TGV deletes good?
By deleting the TGV, airflow is greatly increased and maximized to support bigger turbos and higher boost levels.
What is a TGV delete on a Subaru?
The TGV delete kit eliminates the factory’s restrictive butterfly valves that are located in the intake runners. By eliminating the factory TGV, intake air flow becomes unrestricted and is increased to each cylinder.
Where is TGV located?
Avignon
It was opened on 10 June 2001 and is located on the LGV Méditerranée high-speed line and Avignon-Centre–Avignon TGV railway. The train services are operated by the SNCF. The station is located 6 km south of the city centre….Avignon TGV station.

Does TGV delete need tune?
yes you need a tune, and to clear all the codes that the tgv deletes will throw. so might as well have the injectors, bigger diameter intake, phenolic spacers and tgv deletes installed at the same time, right before the tune.
What is the purpose of TGV deletes?
The primary benefit of a TGV delete is the improved flow, which can unlock greater power output through tuning. This point is proven based on the design and provides the support we need to produce these kits.
Can I drive my car with a bad intake manifold?
Generally a really bad intake manifold gasket will make a car run rough at idle and/or cause a service engine light to illuminate. As far as driving the car, as long as you don’t have a fluid leak or the car is not stalling or running rough, it should be fine to drive for a few months.

How much does it cost to fix intake manifold?
The average intake manifold replacement cost is between $300 and $1100, depending on the car model and labor costs. An intake manifold costs $200 to $600 and the labor costs $100 to $500. This cost differs a lot depending on the car engine and car model you have.

What are the signs of a bad intake manifold?
Symptoms of A Bad Intake Manifold Gasket
- Engine Overheating. An overheating engine aggravates the issue of coolant leakage.
- Engine Stalling.
- Decreased Engine Performance and Misfires.
- Poor Fuel Economy.
- Poor Acceleration.
- Coolant Leaks.
- White Smoke.
